Svein Tuft to ride in the Jayco Herald Sun Tour

October 09, 2009

PCC athlete Svein Tuft will be competing with his Garmin-Slipstream team in the seven-day Jayco Herald Sun Tour in Victoria, Australia from October 11 — 17. He was one of seven chosen to ride with the team.

Tuft — who has had some injuries this year — could be the dark horse for his team in what will be a fascinating battle among the 15 teams competing. Garmin-Slipstream are the favourite’s particularly with Bradley Wiggins from the UK competing. This could be to Tuft’s advantage as all eyes will be on the British Olympian, but the Canadian National Time Trial Champion feels strong and is hoping to make some inroads in the six-stage race.
