Pacific Cycling Centre Head Coach Houshang Amiri will be carrying the Olympic Torch tomorrow, just seven days prior to the start of the Olympic Games.

Amiri will be running with the Olympic torch on Government Road in Squamish, BC at 10.38 am, PST, Friday February 5. “I am extremely honoured and proud to be part of the torch relay, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” he said. Amiri has coached athletes for the 2000 and 2004 summer Olympic Games and was coach to the National Mountain Bike Team in Beijing in 2008.

Two of his PCC athletes Erinne Willock and Max Plaxton also had the experience of carrying the Olympic Torch last October in Victoria, when they cycled with the torch attached to their bikes.
