On the first day of competition in the MTB World Championships in Mont Ste Anne, Quebec, Team Canada placed a respectable 8th in a highly competitive and exciting race.
The team, consisted of Pacific Cycling Centre athlete, Max Plaxton, Francis Morin, Antoine Caron and Mical Dyck. Plaxton was ninth fastest on his lap even though he didn’t have a great start. He got caught up behind other riders and wasn’t able to pass on the single track at the beginning of his 4.6k lap. But he had a strong second half and overall was happy with his lap. Switzerland won the relay, with Germany and the Czech Republic second and third.
