Annie Ewart named to Gatineau Squad

Pacific Cycling Centre athlete, Annie Ewart is one of six cyclists chosen for the 2011 Grand Prix Cycliste Gatineau, to be held on May 19th and 21st in Gatineau, Quebec.

Ewart is in prestigious company. The Canadian team includes Olympian Clara Hughes who has traded her skates for cleats in a remarkable comeback to cycling, and Leah Kirchmann, the U23 National Road Race Champion.

“I am super excited that I was selected to ride on Canada’s senior National Team as a junior rider, in both the road race and the time trial for this project,” Ewart said. “It is not only going to be an amazing experience for me to race against some of the best riders in the world, but also racing alongside some of Canada’s top senior riders.”

There will be two UCI Category 1 races, the time trial race on Thursday, May 19th and the road race on Saturday, May 21st.
