Pacific Cycling Centre athlete Erinne Willock has announced that she will not be going to the Olympic Games as she is expecting a baby. She and her husband Tony Zarsadias are expecting in mid-July.

In a letter to her Team TIBCO/To the Top Cycling Manager Linda Jackson and Canadian National team coach Denise Kelly she stated: “The last couple months have been quite a bit different than I had envisioned since the last Olympics. To say I’ve switched gears is a big understatement. I have very quickly gone from having complete focus for the 2012 Olympic year to now having a healthy and happy pregnancy being my new and exciting reality.”

Willock’s coach at the Pacific Cycling Centre, Houshang Amiri congratulated the couple. “Even though Erinne will reduce her training time, she will continue to be involved with the Centre mentoring young cyclist and helping out with the camps and training. We which the very best for Erinne and Tony,” he said.

Willock, a 2008 Olympian had a great year in 2011 winning the Women’s Prestige Series and the Bastion Square Grand Prix in Victoria.
