PCC Athletes came  away with 12 medals from the Washington State Masters & Juniors Track Cycling Championships in on the Marymoor Velodrome in Redmond, WA,  last weekend.  This is the second year that this successful event has been held.

Alex Amiri and Andrew Grant competed in U19 and Rachel Carey in U17.  Alex had six podium finishes, 1st place in the 3k Individual Pursuit , 2nd in the Points Race and Scratch Race, and 3rd in the Kilo, Keirin and Match Sprint. Andrew had three first place podium finishes – in the Match Sprint, Keirin and the Kilo. Rachel had three podium finishes, placing 2nd in the Keirin, 500m and Match Sprint. She also set the fastest time in the 200m flying in her age category for boys and girls. This was great preparation for Alex and Andrew who will be competing in the National Track Championships next week, and also for Rachel in the BC Provincial Championships.

Marymoor has a very active track race program with many races and clinics throughout the season.

“Marymoor is a good addition to the Provincial and National calendar, offering competition for our young  talented cyclists. This was a great opportunity for our athletes to race and gain valuable experience,” said Houshang Amiri, PCC Head Coach.
