Evan Carey and Andrew Grant on the podium with Sprint winner Bernard Esterhuizen

PCC Athletes attended training camps in Burnaby this month – a one-day track training camp and then a four-day event at the Burnaby Velodrome.

The one-day track event on December 19 was in preparation for the Burnaby Four Day event from December 27-30.  Four PCC athletes - Alex Amiri, Rachael Carey, James Grant and Brodie Hay – were invited by Cycling Canada to attend a camp at the Velodrome that took place during the day with racing in the evening.  Mark Grant also joined the camp.

Andrew Grant, Evan Carey and Mark Milburn competed in the Sprint on the final day – Evan finished 2nd, Andrew 3rd and Mark 6th. The winner was South African Bernard Esterhuizen, Olympian and former World Junior Kilo Champion.
