Pacific Cycling Centre’s Evan Carey is ramping up his training and focussing on the year ahead. Last year he won the bronze medal in the U23 National Sprint Championship and has set his sets on many races in 2014.

His first competition will be the Commonwealth Games trials in Los Angeles in April. “I am feeling better and better for the trials with every passing day and the direction from my coach, Houshang Amiri, is spot on,” he says.  After the trial he will be competing in the U.S. Grand Prix of Sprinting in Colorado Springs, Colorado in July, the Greater Victoria Velodrome Association’s Trackfest 1 and 2, (June and August) and the 2014 Canadian National Track Championships in Milton, Ontario in October. Evan is a busy guy – he is also studying to receive his B.BA in Accounting from the Camosun College School of Business.
