Congratulations to PCC athlete Evan Carey for being selected to the Canadian National Team in the elite team sprint. He will compete in Guadalajara, Mexico at the UCI Track World Cup on November 8 -9.

He made the team after competing in a National team sprint training camp in Los Angeles on October 28. “It was the last open spot on the team and I was the fastest in both trial events that were held and so was selected,” Carey said. This will be his first time on the Canadian National Team. At the Los Angeles event, he also achieved a new personal best in the 200m TT of 10.775 and qualified 5th for the tournament. “However, the race didn't go as well as planned and I finished 8th,” he said. “But the Keirin was held last Sunday and in that race I came 4th in the final which is my best ever UCI event result.”
