Congratulations to Evan Carey for winning gold in the team sprint on at the Pan Ams. The PCC trained athlete now has Rio in his sights.

For Evan it has been a meteoric rise. As a member of the Pacific Cycling Centre he was coached by Houshang Amiri, and then picked for the national team in December 2014 for the Track World Cup. In January he took gold at the track nationals in a composite team. “Evan is just 20 years of age and has worked very hard for last two years giving up many things in life in pursuit of his dream,” said Amiri. “His work ethic is exceptional, he is very coachable and he has the ability to adapt, so it was a payoff winning the gold.”

“At Pacific Cycling Centre we have been very consistent over the years in developing our athletes using the Learn to Train to Train to Compete LTAD model, to achieve podium finishes at major games,” he added.
