PCC’s Houshang Amiri has returned from the Western Canada Summer Games in Wood Buffalo, where he was Head Coach of Cycling Saskatchewan, a team of 10 riders – five male and five female. He deemed the event a success and praised its organization.

The young team – ranging in ages from 15-20 – competed in two road events: the ITT and the road race on August 8th and 9th, followed by the two MTB races: the Eliminator and X-Country on August 10th and 11th.

“Our goal was to learn and experience a new level of competition,” Amiri explained. “This was the first time that I coached this group of athletes in the competition, and I found them very hard working and committed individuals. It was good see them in action and it helped me to get know each of them and set goals for the future.”

Amiri was impressed with the organization of the event: “The races were well organized and managed,” he added.
