PCC’s first off-season training camp in November was a success with over 15 hours of road riding, two hours of strength and core sessions and two hours of training presentations. The first day started with a short pre-ride meeting at the PCC office at Commonwealth Pool. The ride consisted of two short ITT’s, a rolling 11km and 4km ride after which power data from each rider was collected and used to create training and target zones for each rider.

The weather on day two was perfect for riding – sunny skies and 5°C. The four hour ride consisted of pace line and ITT skills and training. In the evening there was two hours of gym training and a strength/core assessment, finishing with a fun handball session.

On the third day the riders cycled the Victoria water front and a loop of Lands End. The main focus was Zn2 training and leg speed. In the evening Head Coach Houshang Amiri did a training presentation.

The final day the focus was on climbing pedaling efficiency training.

The next training camp is January 28-31. Registration is now available on the PCC website.
