Three PCC riders gained a lot of valuable experience recently when they rode in the Grand Prix Cycliste de Saguenay followed by the Tour de Beauce. Alex Amiri, Chris MacLeod and Josh Kropf, all ride for Giant Langley / SmartSavvy+ Cycling Team. In the GP de Saguenay Alex had a strong first stage in the pro peloton finishing 22nd, but became sick and he had to withdraw on the second stage.

In the Tour de Beauce four of the seven in the Smart Savvy team came down with flu leaving Alex, Chris and Josh to race until the last stage. “Riding in the tour showed how capable they are of racing with the elite peloton and long race distances,” said Coach Houshang Amiri. “This was a very big undertaking for the team and the young riders, and they all learned hard lessons and it was a valuable experience for the future.”
