All smiles at the Victoria track camp

Coach Houshang Amiri and PCC riders are having a busy summer. The Nationals were at the beginning of July - following that Houshang traveled to Taiwan to lead a UCI/WCC coaching course.

As head coach of Sask Cycling, he then took the provincial team (U15-17 and U19) to the Rapha NW Junior Championships in Elma, WA from July 28-31, racing from July 30-31. Back in Victoria for the first week of August, he led a track camp that included daily two-hour track practice and two-hour road skill training.

The Victoria camp included five riders from the Yukon with two staff, 10 riders from Saskatchewan with four staff, and five riders from the Dr. Walker Sports Chiropractic Team.  Evan Carey, Pan Am gold medalist in the team sprint was also at the camp, riding with the group and advising the young cyclists. The camp culminated in a race at the Westshore Velodrome.
