The Pacific Cycling Centre hosted it’s second winter training camp in Victoria, November 24th-27th. Eight athletes coached by Houshang Amiri attended the camp while representing the following teams: Trek Red Truck, TaG Race Team, Giant Langley/SmartSavvy and the Dr. Walker Chiropractor Cycling Team.

The camp encompassed more than 16hrs of road cycling over four days, a strength and core session facilitated by Hilary Wille, a Nutrition/goal setting discussion and a season planning seminar directed by coach Houshang. The athletes endured unseasonably cold and wet weather conditions throughout the camp however, coach Houshang succeeded to present a positive outlook while providing the athletes with self management skills.

Power data was collected to define training zones for each athlete which were encompassed into individual time trial and pursuit training skills on the first and third days of the camp. On days two and four of the camp the athletes focused on climbing pedaling efficiency and training principals.

The next training camp is scheduled for January 19th-22nd. Registration details will be available soon.
