Pacific Cycling Centre held their off-season training camp last weekend (January 19-22) in Victoria, a week after their track camp and race in Burnaby. The Victoria camp had a good representation from top cycling teams including Tag Cycling, Smart Savvy, H&R Pro Cycling, Dr. Walker Sports Chiropractic, Red Truck and Cyclery OPUS Racing Team. Four time Xterra Champion Melanie McQuaid also attended. All came together under PCC head coach Houshang Amiri.

Day one consisted of a 4 ½ hour ride including a hill climb TT. Later that day Amiri led a training and information session at PISE’s board room at their Commonwealth Pool location.

The second day featured a 5 ½ hour ride including a rolling ITT. Data from the ride was analyzed and feedback was given to riders. In the evening there was two hour indoor dynamic strength, core stability workout including a hand ball game.

Saturday and Sunday each featured a six hour with the main focus on climbing and climbing skill.
