Holly and Brenna on the podium

2018 Canadian Elite Track Nationals was a great success for Pacific Cycling Centre last weekend. The PCC coached athletes were part of Cycling BC’s provincial team.

Holly Simonson achieved a third-place finish in the Omnium, winning the first of four races in the Omnium, while Brenna Pauly and Micaiah Besler performed well in a highly skilled and strong field. Holly and Brenna then teamed up to place third in the women’s Madison.

In the men’s field, Amiel Flett-Brown had a very strong race among world-class competition. Chris MacLeod set a new PB in the individual pursuit, and Colin Follow in the 1000 metre time trial.

“This was a very young team racing alongside Olympians and world medalists,” said head coach Houshang Amiri. “Thanks to Cycling BC for organizing the team. Taking part in competitions like these offers these cyclists the opportunity to learn and compete with the best.”
