The recent BC Track Provincials held at the Westshore Velodrome was a huge success for PCC athletes.

Congratulations to Holly Simonson and Chris McLeod for winning the elite women’s and men’s Omnium, and Megan Barnes the U17 Omnium, sprint and individual pursuit.  Holly with Brenna Pauly won the elite women’s Madison, Renate Walton won the 2000m Pursuit, Erik Diertens, Chris McLeod and Amiel Flett-Brown achieved gold in the Team Sprint, and Caleb Bender won the U19 Omnium. Mike Cooper in the over 60 category won the sprint, the 500m TT and the Kieren.

Brenna was also second in the team sprint and third in the individual pursuit. Caleb also came second in the U19 individual pursuit. Erik achieved a bronze in the Omnium, bronze in the Kerin and with Chris a bronze in the Madison.

"At the BC Track Provincial Championships, I successfully managed to exceed all of my expectations. It was a fun and fast weekend and now I truly believe I have a great future in track cycling," Erik said afterwards.

Megan also was thrilled. “I had a fantastic weekend of track racing and came out with some really great results in the U17 women's category. I would really like to thank Houshang Amiri for the coaching and the outstanding team mates I had to train with as I progress in my sport.”
