Pacific Cycling Centre (PCC) provides coaching and training services for Elite, Masters, and Junior athletes in road, mountain bike, track, and cyclo-cross.
December 6 – 8, 2024
Pacific Cycling Centre 2024-2025 program year starts with a December training camp and education session to kick-start the new cycling season. The goal is to improve your cycling knowledge in order to build a good foundation to have a successful season.
This camp strategy is placed in the mid-mesocycle of the General Preparatory phase focused to structure your build to achieve strength and ability in your desired discipline. This camp offers on-road evaluations to determine and benchmark your personal current fitness, and we provide you with feedback for the up coming race season, based on your goals and level of fitness.
There is a unique opportunity to train and work with PCC head coach Houshang Amiri who is leading the camp, as well as guest speakers from professional teams. Rides for this camp aim endurance and aerobic power, and is suitable for all endurance athletes such as road, track, MTB and triathlon (group riding skills are required).
Camp includes:
Daily training sessions with Pacific Cycling Centre Head Coach Houshang Amiri. Ride support with Gruppo Nutrition. Endurance Mix and Recovery Mix are provided during and after the training. Full vehicle and mechanical support on the rides.
Camp includes two dinners Friday and Saturday evening before the presentation session.
Presentation on training: Every camp features a different topic. Presentations usually cover planning, recovery, cycling technique and tactics, and fatigue / performance management. A Q & A session is held after the presentation and we will have a guest speaker.
PCC adheres to the latest health guidelines. Any restrictions applied by the Government of BC at the time of the camp will apply.
Helmet, appropriate bike for the camp (e.g. road bike for race camp – mountain bike for off-road camps), and proper riding gear. We recommend a full fender with on extension on the rear fender for rainy days. Camp schedule is subject to modification due to the weather conditions, and the participants’ fitness level.
Camp Format: Rides will be divided into different groups based on the number of cyclists. Modifications will be made based on the cyclists’ abilities and coach observations.
Minimum number to run the camp 6 riders by deadline. You will be refunded if we cancel the camp
All rides leaves at 10:00 am (athletes are required to meet 15 minutes before the start of each ride).

Friday, December 6
Meet time 9:45 am
Duration ~3-4 hours
Aim: Fitness assessment ride, including Willis Point (hill climb) and Lands End ITT and base ride
PM: 5:30 – 7:30 pm – training presentation, location 94 Forward Boardroom followed by dinner
Saturday, December 7
Meet time 9:45 am
Duration: ~3-4 hours
Aim: Hilly aerobic ride with a focus on climbing technique and fine tuning skills
PM: 5:30 – 7:30 pm – training presentation, location 94 Forward Boardroom followed by dinner
Sunday, December 8
Meet time 9:45 am
Duration ~3-4 hours
Aim: Aerobic endurance ride with pace line TTT work and drills
Camp Fees
$600 + GST

PCC Registered athletes discount: 75%
Camp grants – up to 50% available for non-PCC registered riders, to apply for grant please provide your brief cover letter and athletic resume before camp deadline.
Other Services
Laboratory assessment and evaluations available, option are: riding economy, pedal stroke evaluation and bike fitting, and fitness evaluation, lactate profiling, developing your Heart race and Power training zones. (Prorated service fee applies – pre-booking for the services require)
