PCC Celebrates 17 years of Athlete Development

Pacific Cycling Centre is celebrating 17 years of athlete and coach development. Since opening in 2009, in Victoria, B.C., PCC has remained committed to individualized, evidence-based coaching supporting cyclists from the development level through to elite levels across road, track, mountain bike, and para-cycling disciplines. Athletes from the program have earned national podium finishes and represented Canada in international competition.

Director and Head Coach Houshang Amiri has further advanced PCC’s mission through international coach education, mentoring initiatives, and contributions to UCI World Cycling Centre programs.

“Our goal at PCC is to create a stress-free and balanced environment where athletes can enjoy their training while learning all the necessary skills both on and off the bike,” says Amiri. “Our programs challenge athletes in measurable ways, creating opportunities for them to learn and progress toward their personal goals in both individual and group settings. This creates an exciting opportunity for the next generation of cycling champions.”

As PCC enters its 18th year, the organization remains focused on athlete-centred coaching, sport science, coach development, and creating meaningful progress for every cyclist.

New applications are being accepted for online and Victoria-based athletes of all levels. Athletes including U18, U19, U23, Elite, and Master athletes in all respective age categories are invited to join the Pacific Cycling Centre coaching program and support system.
