Erinne Willock, with her new team TIBCO/To the Top, scored a first place finish on Saturday at the Snelling Road Race in Merced, California.

The competition was very tight on the five-lap, 12-mile circuit with some steady attacks but no notable breaks, until the fourth lap when Willock broke and opened a gap with 30 kilometres to go. The Pacific Cycling Centre athlete joined TIBCO in October 2010 and has put in some solid training at PCC in Victoria, BC over the winter.

“The Snelling road race was my first race with my new team and it was a great start to the season for us to come away with the win!” Willock said. “I'm feeling stronger than ever for this time of year and I know it's because of all the hard work Houshang Amiri and I put in this winter at the Pacific Cycling Centre. That really helped my training so much and it was a great group this winter. I know it will lead to more wins for myself and Team TIBCO this season.”
