Svein Tuft’s Team Scores First Win in Italy

March 07, 2012

Svein Tuft’s team has won the first stage in the Tirreno-Adriatico in Italy. Tuft has had a busy start to the 2012 cycling season. The Pacific Cycling Centre mentor has raced in Qatar and Oman and is now racing on the European circuit.

The Tirreno-Adriatico runs through until March 13. The first stage – a 16.9 km ITT course – was held today and won convincingly by GreenEDGE in 18:41. This is the first time that the Australian-based team has won in Europe.

The race continues tomorrow with the longest stage covering 230 km from San Vincenzo to Indicatore, on a course likely to be favoured by the sprinters. You can catch all the action on www.steephill.tv/tirreno-adriatico.
