Svein Tuft proved Saturday why he is Canada’s best time trialist. He won the 17.4 kilometre stage six of the Eneco Tour in 20:25. His first world tour individual win so far this season, he leads the GC with one stage to go.

Svein – riding for Orica-GreenEDGE – rode an average speed of 51.13 km and has put his team well ahead before the final stage. In a team press release he said: "When I came across the line and saw my time, I was pretty surprised. I was hoping to have a really good time trial, but I didn't expect to be in the leader's jersey at this point in the race. It's a great feeling."

“Svein is a mentor at the Pacific Cycling Centre and has shown his expertise over and over in ITT,” said PCC Head Coach Houshang Amiri. “Well-done and congratulations to Svein and ORICA-GreenEDGE team.”
